Last week Guide dogs for the Blind fund raiser, Thelma visited our class with her fabulous dogs Alma and Rhoda. Thelma shared with us why guide dogs are needed and how they are trained at puppy school. We then got the chance to meet the dogs up close and walk them. We also tried on different glasses that helped us to experience a range of eye conditions and how they would affect people's eyesight including a complete blindfold that took away all of our eyesight. Children shared that they felt worried , scared and nervous when their sight was taken away or decreased. We could all see the benefit and importance of having a Guide dog. We were able to handover a donation of £20 to Guide dogs for the Blind. Thank you Thelma for such a brilliant visit.
